Punta Cana International Airport

Description

New terminal building is completed as a result of the extension project at Punta Cana International Airport. The interior is recognizable by design that recalls the palm trees on the local tropical beaches. The whole roof structure, both existing and new, is covered with cane palms’ leaves.

In the interior of the new terminal, 6 m high round columns were designed to bear the load of the roof construction. To build them easily and with less manpower, the Geotub formwork was chosen. Easy and fast installation, removal, and no machinery needed. The formwork was erected in record time without any crane, and the Self-Consolidating Concrete pour into the formwork was flawless.

Geoplast formwork products are in accordance with Lean Construction, providing efficient workflow, cost reduction, and construction site safety.
